Imperial North

This piece was chosen for the New York Academy of Sciences opening of their new headquarters in the Financial District on Broadway. Among the oldest scientific organizations in the United States, the Academy has become an important and widely-respected contributor to the international scientific community. The Academy’s Membership has featured thinkers and innovators from all walks of life, including U.S. Presidents Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe, and pioneers in science, such as Thomas Edison, Charles Darwin, and Margaret Mead.

Off the Map Series was inspired by the unexpected detours that make life worth living and I painted this series while filming the movie, “Sweet Gril”. I was the on set painter for this particular show and in between set ups you could find me painting these pieces.
